Hi! I just got double-nudged by Dawn, plus I saw the nudges that I didn't see before because I didn't check my email for a couple months... I don't really have anything to say, I just thought I might as well take up space here since I have a few minutes until my next class and noone is around. I'm going to try to start posting again, because I like looking back and reading them a few months later. Classes so far look alright, except for the one I had this morning. Nothing like picking groups to make you realize that you haven't made any friends in classes despite being with pretty much the same people for a couple years now. Hopefully some people will show up that skipped class or something, since I know a whole lot more people were supposed to be there. Only a handful of my friends aren't graduating this year, and it's kind of depressing to think of starting over. :\ Anyway, I'll post less angsty things later. Class time! (My record now is 30 weeks without posting. They changed the whole layout, and now there are lots of options I haven't seen before.)

I now have a second job! I took the one at Friedman's despite the distance, and I'll be keeping the Barnie's one until they lay us all off. Neither job will give me over 20 hours, so I should be able to handle both. Hopefully they'll get into some kind of predictable routine so I can request off the days I have one from the slacker job that gives me hours later than the other one. Not sure which is which yet, but whatever. I start tomorrow. ^^ It's been kind of a party weekend, but I also worked every day. I'm trying to work with the new computer I got from Allie (AKA start a video game or two on it) but every time I try I get distracted. For the past couple hours it's been all the email and online stuff I've been neglecting, but right now I think I'll be distracted by sleep.

    <lj:music>Killers - All These Things That I've Done</lj:music>

I went to my first day of class today... sloooooow. I guess I should have been expecting that though. It is Calc III (which I took a couple years ago). It's very odd for me to be repeating a class. Since I'm not failing anything, it makes sense for me to use this time to up my GPA with a grade forgiveness; A few years ago I never would've believed I would have had trouble with anything even remotely academic, so I'm kind of embarrassed to be using one. Went through high school with nothing but A's, and graduated pretty high up there without killing myself over the silly numbers. (Didn't really see a point to it.) At least I'm already able to reapply for the full Bright Futures coverage.
With the Barnies' buyout, I've been getting ready to go apply for some new jobs, but I got a call today from Friedmans' asking me if they could fax my application out to their store by John Young and Sand Lake Rd. I can't decide whether or not I want to set up that interview or politely call and say that it's too far... it seems like I'll probably get the job, but it's so far away. My car gets good gas mileage, but I would pay tolls also unless I wanted to waste gas by going a longer, slower way. I would definitely make more money, but I'd be working about an hour to pay off the gas and tolls for the trip each time I went in. I'll have to be nosy and ask Kelly some more questions about the starting pay/how much commission I would probably get before I decide if it's worth it. It might be. ^^ Also considering other jobs closer to the apartment, but Waterford is probably almost completely staffed by now, and I wouldn't expect the Friedman's in there to have another opening for months. Maybe I can sign up to work out at Sand Lake, asking to be transferred to Waterford if a position opens... don't know. Must ask opinions. If only it were closer, I'd take it immediately. Silly distance.
Lastly, I looked back and realized that I haven't listed off the cool work stories I've acquired lately. Here goes:
~ We always have a problem with people not realizing that straws are on the condiment stand, or in fact, being completely unable to find the condiment stand even though it's large and in plain view. We have a shiny, shiny box labeled straws, as well as a cup beside it with even larger bright red straws. People are dumb. There was this one lady who we told about the straws and she walks out there, stares at it for a couple minutes, and then asks again. Her 3 or 4 year old child looks up and says, "they're right there, mommy!" Mommy proceeds to turn red and walk away quickly. How is it that small children and people who we know to be mentally challenged can find them, and people who society recognizes as normal have so much difficulty?
~ Leanna and I were taking out the garbage after close one night, and the disposal is a giant compactor. You have to really heave the heavier bags to get them in, and so I threw one pretty hard. Next thing we know, there's a loud explosion sound, and little shards of glass come tinkling out on the ground. There's also this white mist/smoky substance floating up... my first thought was that someone planted a weird trash bomb that just kind of sucked. I think it was actually that we accidentally punctured one of the many whipped cream cans that we toss every day, and it went boom. In any case, very entertaining and by far the highlight of the day.
Now all I have to do today is get my laundry put away and hopefully clean my room a little bit; sadly I feel no motivation for either. Maybe if I watch some Babylon 5 while doing so...

This is the worst anti-internet streak I've been on in a loooong time. I've been trying to at least check my email, but I just really dislike it for some reason. Video games and Gilmore Girls have taken over. That and some schoolwork. << >> Got to see Dawn for a little while today, Kelly last night, and Katie and Claire on Friday, but other than that I've been keeping to myself... I think I'm turning hermit. Hermit altogether. I feel accomplished with my insane attention to my pets and my ability to inspire gory fairy tales though. ^^ Both are good points so far. Took Bo and Scarf to the vet for a recheck this morning, and they're in "excellent condition" now. I did good! The weekend was a little insane (especially Friday), but I'm mostly just writing to say that I'm alive. Any interesting details have probably already been given in person to people who actually read all my rambles. XP Ask and ye shall receive, suckers. Ah well, off I go. I have internet cartoons to catch up on before my tolerance wears thin.

I have a tea set!!! It's pretty and blue, and Claire gave it to me for Christmas. ^^ I spent most of today with Katie and Claire, after sleeping in a lot. On Friday I went to Stephanie's Christmahanukwanzika party, but didn't learn how to spell it. Much fun was had, and everyone else has already posted about it so read theirs. XP Last night, I went to see Kelly's choreographer showcase dance thingy at Valencia, and it was awesome. Went with Dawn, Claire, and Hunter, saw Kelly's family, Jeff, and Dan there. For a while afterwards we looked for Dan's car key, finally finding it under his car. So lucky! Hunter, Dawn and I came back to the apartment after that, ordered some cheap pizza, and chilled. Then Dawn and I had a Buffy marathon (2nd season) to watch the last few episodes before we had to return them to the library today... definitely went to bed sometime after 4. At about 12 today, I woke up and then Claire called me so she and Katie could come visit. Dawn was here too, and we made a huge breakfast that was awesomeness in food form. Katie, Claire and I went to Oviedo Marketplace to do some quick Christmas shopping before they had to head to St. Pete. It was a lot of fun, and my Barnie's discount came in useful. They just headed out a few minutes ago, so I now need some food. Checked my grades, and only two are out but they're A's. Maybe I won't drop my GPA too badly with thermo after all. Might post again sometime before break is over. Noone will be here! Dawn's leaving tomorrow, and everyone else is mostly gone or going very soon. At least I still have Kelly, and maybe a few others who haven't told me they're staying. ^^ It will be an interesting time when I have the place to myself again. I was considering decorating it. Blinky.

*EDIT* Found it interesting that lj's spellchecker considers "thingy" a real word, yet has a problem with the much more popular "blinky."

    <lj:music>Coasters - Yakety Yak</lj:music>

I did extremely well on my test this morning depite the lack of studying for it. I love open book tests. And now in chronological order: Last night I went out to Lake Eola with Dawn and got some energy out. Relaxed, finally, and just let things be. Chilled. Was at one with the lake/swans/fountain. There wer baby swans!!! Almost felt like old times, what with all the wise-cracks. Just a few of the favorites: "Coke-tipping" in Publix, "I'm orange soda and I don't bathe!", and sitting in the car eating chicken and scaring the cart-retrievers: "Be ye friend, or be ye food?". At Lake Eola, a hobo asked us what we were smoking. XD Afterwards, we ate candy and watched the third Harry Potter movie. I got about 6 hours of sleep, then was up for my test. As stated before, I did pretty well. I looked at the key, and the worst I did would be a 97. If he counts off for everything. I came home, packed, and then took my fishes to Kelly's house so they would have food. Thank you, Kelly!!!! It makes me happy that they will be safe and taken care of while I'm gone. It also makes me happy that I didn't have to take them to Tampa... they might not have made it. Well, they probably would, but I would not have been a happy driver. I looked down at them while taking them to Kelly's, and they were just looking for food on the bottom like they do when they're bored at home. I couldn't help but wonder how the heck they could be so calm while I was so freaked that they would be injured somehow by the moving. But now all the class-type stress is over (for now) and I get to go home. I won't have internet access until Friday, so don't expect me to be online or responding to comments. I love you guys, so I'll totally answer them when I get back. It's just because I'm out. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!! *poufs*

Overslept today for real, but still without missing classes. I intended to get up and give myself about three hours for getting ready and studying, but I ended up with half of that. I'm just glad I didn't sleep through the test. I turned my alarm off without remembering that I did it. << >> Also, I think our air conditioner is broken. There might be a switch somewhere that someone turned off, so I'll ask everyone else before putting in a work order or anything. I think it's broken though. It's like 85 degrees in here. *dies from the heat* Anyone with air conditioning want to adopt a Tracy? I cook and clean, and I do some pretty neat tricks. I'll even chase off intruders.
I've been realizing lately just how badly I need new contacts. I thought Carrie was holding a pile of paper clips, but it turned out to be a small turtle. Not even kidding. Good thing I put in some extra hours at work. I have enough money now! ^^ No more blurry everything.
I'm basically trying to think of things to do that will take up time before my class... I don't feel like wandering around outside since it's too hot out there, and I don't really want to sit here, but it's better than sitting in the business building waiting for my class. I'm proud of myself in advance for going today. He's going to take attendance, and we have a test on Thursday. Hopefully going will put me in a studying mood so I can work tonight. Tonight and/or tomorrow. Maybe the air will be magically fixed so I can focus. I'll be needing a break in any case, so if anyone wants to see me, now should be a good time. Later!

...will be thermodynamics! I want to help cook for tonight's dinner, and the class itself is not so great. We're still in the really easy stuff, and the professor is entirely too repetitive. That'll probably be a good thing once the class gets tough, but for right now it's annoying. I'm actually feeling pretty good today. Especially in comparison to yesterday. I got over eleven hours of sleep so that's probably it. I shock me sometimes. My room is really messy, so I'll also use this time to fix that. I've been too busy with various things, and most of them are now scattered on the floor. I also need to fix the wire situation - lots of electronics means lots of wires, and right now they're not terribly organized. Anyone but me would probably trip in here. I know where they all are, but after a few weeks I'd probably get annoyed with them anyway so I might as well do it all at once. Dawn and I went to Chipotle for lunch and there were interesting people in there. This led to a fun conversation in the car on the way home, concerning how I should hit on more guys:
"Tracy, this is what you should do." *whack!* "You need to date women." *whack!* "I like you." *whack!* "You need to date me." *whack!* "We're together now."
"That's how you're gonna get a guy."
...I'm curious as to whether or not that would work, so I think I'm gonna have to try that out on random people around campus. Mwahaha. "Don't hurt me, it's a psych experiment!" << >>
I get to pick up a shift on Sunday, so that's 7.5 extra hours. Weeee! I think that's it for the updating, so I'm off to start making yummy things. I have cookie duty!

Day Four: the fish still live.

I got my mini-fridge up the stairs and into my room (by myself! I'm so strong I scare me sometimes...) Now I can have cold things upstairs. Not sure exactly what I'll use it for, since I was worried about food pilferage by an anonymous roomie when I brought it. It'll be convenient for drinks and such though. Or things that people do steal. Or as Mack suggested, I could use it as a cold bookshelf and kill two birds with one stone. I love having my electronics again! I was without them all summer, and I forgot how great they are. Now I just need to retrieve my RF and coaxial cables from home, and I'll be set. Maybe mom can ship them if I describe exactly what they look like and where they are in the house. I could use my remotes as well, but my iPAQ functions as a remote so they're not as necessary. (Thank you Roy!) Forgot about that for a while, though Dad and I used to trick people with it quite a bit. I ended up joining a nutrition class with Dawn, and we can split the book costs since we live together. :-D Half price is very nice. Off I go to set up a few more things before my job interview at 2:30. Then it's shopping for very cheap food with Dawn.

I despise those shuttles already, but I'll use them because they're free
~ Got a call about a job interview right after starting to complain about how Barnies will only be giving me 7 hours or so since everyone has the same availability... took it as a sign and set up an interview for tomorrow at 2:30 - Friendly's waitress or hostess. Wish me luck.
~ Give me advice on what course I should take to bring me up at least one credit hour!!! I can't find anything. <lj:music>Tim's music</lj:music>

I miss everyone! Dawn left before I got back to the apartment today, so I probably won't see her for two weeks. It's a big deal when you're used to living in the same room with someone, and seeing them for all but a few hours each day. She took the lamp, so when I came home I turned on the hall light and figured out my air mattress in the dark. I was worried about my mice not having any light, then I realized my mice are gone too. I'm lonely for my friends from UCF and high school, but I'm glad for Mack and Tim. They loaned me light and are loud and talkative. (This is a very good thing.) I'm going to miss Tim, but Mack is moving in with us at U-House in the fall. AKA, two weeks. I was able to figure out the air mattress in the dark, and it has an awesome little air pump that's surprisingly fast and quiet. I loooove this mattress, it would actually fit the bed that Dawn had in here. XD It's a full size, since that's the kind that were on sale. Very comfortable too. I think I'm gonna go to sleep now... I'm getting kind of sick from being over-worked/awake too long. I went to Tampa yesterday, then packed most of today, drove back, then immediately went to work a 7-hour shift... weee. Dan and Kelly came to see me though, so that made me happy. I have to wake up fairly early tomorrow morning to move my stuff to Ken's, then I work 4 to close again. At least I have Sunday off. And now, I collapse.

*EDIT* ...oh no, two weeks without internet... that means two weeks without Naruto and Bleach!! *dies without even seeing this weeks' eps*

    <lj:music>computer lab noise</lj:music>

This week is entirely too busy. How it looks now:
Today: Woke up at 8, went to class, will have class again from 1:30 til 3, head home and do almost all my studying for exams.
Tuesday: Up at 8 again, Class, a little studying, work from 4-10. Work will be a lot worse than it sounds, because we have a habit inspection and I get to be quizzed by the regional manager even though I'm new. :\ This will be bad, since I haven't had time to learn everything due to classes and other time constraints. Not to mention they just gave me the manuals last night.
Wednesday: 8 again, class, cramming, Exam o' Death, then packing up all my belongings.
Thursday: 8 again, Exam o' Not-Quite-As-Much-Death-But-Still-Not-Happy, pack more since I know I won't finish Wednesday (must... study...), then drive two hours home. Give mice to Allie, and pack what I'll need for fall semester (clothes that won't let me freeze when it gets cold, etc.). Spend time with family all over town until I'm all dead.
Friday: get up fairly early, spend time with mom/family, tear myself away far later than I need to, rush back to Orlando and see if I can get everything into the apartment before I have to leave for my shift. 4-10. Dawn will probably be gone before I get back from Tampa, and the room will be too empty.
Saturday: work 4-close, so I need to call Ken today and ask if I can move in then. (Before 4, that is.)
Sunday: Won't know whether or not I work until Tuesday.
I have to move out either Saturday or Sunday, so hopefully Ken will be free one of those days, or he can meet me some other time to get me a key. Sometime in there I also have to figure out my schedule for fall, since I need one more credit hour to meet the minimum for my scholarship. I hope I can find something easy that will just fit in my schedule and not be very much work. If only one of my classes had a lab. Any recommendations would be appreciated. ^^ On a happy note, we get more tips than I thought we would. We got them at the store meeting last night, and that's an extra $20! We get them once a week, so that should be a nice bonus. Apparently we've been getting the average amount of tips, too. I won't count on them since they can vary, but it's really nice to be handed $20 when you're expecting like $5. It's also hit me that I haven't been online lately with all the things I've been doing, so being without internet for a couple weeks really won't seem very different to those of you who try to keep up with me. XD I've updated fairly well, so I'm off to study. Exams are a pain.

I would've finished it, but I also played with my computer a lot and studied a little. I can probably fit in all the rest of my studying before work today, since I don't go in until 6. Test and a quiz on Monday. I'm such a slacker. ^^ Summer is almost over! Kind of wondering if my new job will let me have the time off that I'll need between my leases... hopefully there'll be no hard feelings. I can always find somewhere to stay around here if I really have to, and it might be better for me to spend that time earning money anyway. I'll think about it before I do anything.

Hopefully a shower will wake me up. I slept for about 10 hours already. Must study for a test and a quiz, both on Monday. I have a meeting tomorrow at 6 pm for training and paperwork at Barnie's, so hopefully I can also work on that tomorrow before I go in. I'm gonna be on my own all day today. Dawn has rehearsal, and Mack and Tim left shortly after I woke up. Oh, and my hair is now red (not fire-engine, just the natural color) thanks to another impulsive dyeing session. <lj:music>Ride of the Valkyries - Richard Wagner</lj:music>

Let me start out by saying that I despise roaches. Hate 'em! They're scary, creepy, and gross. They shouldn't exist in the same space I do. We can't keep this place clean enough to be sanitary, and the roaches have moved in here too. I bleached the countertop - just the countertop - to try and have a teeny tiny clean area in the house, and in less than an hour there was food spilled on it again. Gah! Dawn and I have pretty much given up since that happens every time we clean something. Anyway, last night there was a roach attack on me. Long story short, Aaron comes to rescue us (probably thinking there's a dead body in the bathroom since we were all shaky) and takes the thing far, far away. This is why Aaron is our hero. After that, Dawn and I ran out and got groceries and a crapload of airtight containers in an effort to keep at least our stuff safe from the little invaders. Today I went to my job interview and was in a really good mood afterward. It went really well and I have a second interview tomorrow. (Which from the manager's implication means I'm pretty much hired.) I got in and noone else was home... or so I thought. Turns out I got here just in time for the second wave of the assault, cause there's a humongous flying roach (the worst kind) in the kitchen, and noone to help deal with it. I tried to talk myself into killing it, but it flew at me and I caved. I ran and knocked on Aaron's door, but he wasn't home. I'm not about to call anyone over here to kill a bug since we live so far away from everyone else, so I did what anyone would do. Turns out we don't have hairspray or bug spray, so I grabbed the most toxic-looking thing I could find from the broom closet and let him have it... which totally didn't phase him. I was very confused since the cleaner kills germs, and everyone knows roaches are made of germs. So I kept on dumping it on him until he slowed down as much as possible. "Scrubbing bubbles, don't fail me now!" Then I put a napkin on him and squished him, for which I'm very proud. No running away (well not much), and I got it. It took me a good half an hour to kill that bug. I left him under the napkin, so someone else can deal with him. Someone who leaves trash in there, and keeps me from having clean space. If anyone wants to adopt me, I don't take up much room, I clean, I cook, and I can do neat tricks.

I still kinda feel like we should be. I got used to it, even after only a week. She still loves us though. :-D It's kind of sad, but Aaron said that she whimpered by the door for an hour after we left and wouldn't budge. We still see her, so it's ok. I have a test tomorrow in Differential Equations, but I think I'm pretty much ready. I'll wake up a little early to study some more, then I have to be on campus until 4 pm. ><
Yesterday was pretty fun. Dawn and I ran around the mall for a couple hours, which was probably a bad idea since we didn't want to spend any money. We were very strong and only bought soap and lotion, which were on sale for at least 75% off. If you want to buy anything found at a mall, head to Fashion Square now! Every store we passed had clearance signs and 60-75% off signs, if not better. It was specifically trying to tempt us. We ran home and played with Alexis for a while (the yellow lab puppy), then headed to Downtown Disney... it totally skipped our minds that it was supposed to rain. We hit a downpour while we were there, and though it wasn't as bad as it could have been, I had a white t-shirt on. (D'oh!) We came back and watched tv with Alexis until Aaron came home. We had bought some awesome candy apples at Downtown Disney, and we ate them while watching Save the Last Dance. All-in-all, a good day. Side note: Aaron and Jeff's porch is awesome.
Now I must sleep, but here are some survey things I did earlier:
put an "x" to all that apply to you...
( ) smoked a <lj:music>Kim Jong Il - I'm So Ronery</lj:music>

I woke up an hour early today to do some Principles of EE homework (to try and salvage some of my two hour break as actual break time)... I closed my eyes for two seconds and when I opened them again it was an hour later. I wasn't even really tired. I'm making a quick update since I've given up on that homework for now. I went home for most of the weekend, and was really bummed that I had to come back before celebrations on Monday night. (I have early classes, and Shane's party-things run way late.) It was only worse since he showed me all the cool explodables they had (flippin' huge) and that the guy next door is a professional so he tried out some stuff a night early. Didn't get to set off fireworks, cook M&Ms, or the other cool things we've done the past few years. Oh well. Dawn came home early so I wasn't lonely and that was very happy. Yesterday I went and checked in with a couple applications, had one interview, and applied at Dillard's. I think I'd like to work at Dillard's, they pay well. I also got a bad bug bite when I took out Alexis, which has made my foot not happy. Benadryl is my hero. Alexis is the yellow lab puppy we're dog-sitting this week. She's pretty well-behaved for a puppy, but she's strong. Aaron also has a bearded dragon that we're taking care of... it's cool. Just cool. I've decided that I'm immensely tired of classes. I need a break, but I'm not gonna get one this year since I took summer classes. I can't wait until I have my degree, and I hope I can get a job with it. Bleh. (At least I'm in my last math class, and hopefully I won't deal with this much electrical stuff for a while. Not this in-depth.) Off to get ready for class.

I have a kitty. His name is Squirt and he won't leave. Since he's so cute and his owner abandoned him, I've claimed him and will probably end up keeping him when we move. He's shy around everyone else, but he comes to me whenever he sees me. (That makes him cool.) He's gotten a lot better, but when he first came around you could see his bones through his fur. He's black and white with really cool fur coloring. It's black on the bottom, but white on the tips. :-D Dawn found a giant orange tabby (and I do mean giant) but she looks like she's eating well so we aren't worried about her. Dawn has named her Bubba. Bubba gives Dawn hives. It's ok because it's not her fault.

PS - Call this number and listen to the message... it's a good thing to know.
You knew it was coming.

Thursday: Went to class as usual, then failed to get Dawn on the phone so I could say bye in person during her break. As soon as I got back to the apartment to pack, I got a call from both Dawn and Kelly telling me I should come to Chili's for a queso lunch. I packed in about 20 minutes, then had lunch with Kelly, Dawn, and Dan. Dawn ran off to yet another meeting, and the rest of us headed to the guys' apartment to get Kelly's stuff. It was as difficult to get away as usual, but that's ok since we haven't been seeing enough of them. (Summer classes suck.) Headed down I-4 while a storm was doing the same, and dodged mudslides caused by the construction not having enough of those wall-things. We had two coffees each, so we survived. I dropped off Kelly, then went and surprised my family. Spent the rest of the day with them, then collapsed once I found out the plans for Friday. Speaking of which...
Friday: My day began at 7:30... then I ended up not being able to find my BG pass. I took it as a sign that I shouldn't go, so I spent that few hours studying for the test on Monday. I met up with Becca and Kelly at the food court in the mall at about 11, then we wandered through various stores for a while. Went back to Becca's house and printed out my confirmation for the Metrocon tickets, then Kelly decided she didn't want to go on Friday. I called Allie since I knew she really wanted to go, and she used the spare ticket. By the time we got to the convention we were a couple hours later than I intended to be, but we found Amanda and Dani right away. The rest of the day was spent wandering around with them until they went off to volunteer in registration. Allie and I went and watched a few episodes of something in a video room (no, despite the fact that it wasn't bad, I don't remember the name.) We got tired of sitting there so we were headed to the game room. We found Amanda on the way, and ended up hanging out with her, Dani, and Jamie until it was time for me to head back to Becca's. I had been challenged to a duel, you see. When I came in, Ryan and Steve were already there. Ryan made my day. "It's Tracy Shannon!" *huge hug* Despite the manner of invitation, they didn't try to kill me and we ended up watching a movie for a while until they both ran out to go to an actual theatre. Dan had arrived during the movie, and Becca and Kelly declared war on him instead. They pulled out water guns and attacked him. Since I wasn't being attacked by either side, I went to sleep on the couch for a while. Then I heard Kelly walk right past me asking where I was, so I went into the living room since I thought that's where she was headed... it wasn't, so I went to sleep on that couch too. When they caught up to me, I found out I was supposed to be the referee. The crooked referee who was on their side and gets to use her water gun for evil, that is. That was fine by me, but I think I was too zonked out to be much good at it; I waited until the end to actually squirt anyone, and that's only 'cause they turned on me first. We were kicked out of Becca's house at midnight so she could go to Mexico (not joking) and I went home and collapsed.
Saturday: I went and picked up Kelly in the morning, and headed over to the convention center. We had some trouble finding a parking garage, so we were later than we should have been. We found Amanda, Dani, Dan, and a few others waiting in line for the Chess Match and we got really good seats. There was a lot of the dialogue that we couldn't hear, but overall it was pretty funny. Roy's fight was great (gotta love the mop and bucket) and I'm pretty sure Jason really is Gendo. After the match, I wandered downtown Orlando with Kelly and Dan. After a lot of looking, we finally found a relatively cheap place to eat that was good. It was a little sports bar with all kinds of food. Heading back to the convention center, we went into the Fullmetal Fantasy panel in time to catch most of the questions and the outtakes. It looked pretty funny, so I'll have to see if I can catch that elsewhere. Dani and Amanda said it was great. We wandered around for a while, then Amanda and Dani had to go volunteer. I found Roy and he wasn't surrounded by scary people I didn't know, so I decided to roam around with them for a while. We went through the dealers' rooms and then into the Anime Idol contest, which ended up being the end of the cosplay contest that ran over... some people had absolutely nothing to do up there. They desperately need screening. Roy died so I took his hat, and then Amanda and Dani came back from volunteering. We went to get food at KFC/Taco Bell/Pizza Hut and had a very weird experience with the parking garage... there's only one ramp out, yet somehow we ended up on another ramp. Then it disappeared. That one still hurts my brain when I think about it, because I went back later to get my car and drove around the garage, with no success in finding the other ramp or any way to get to such a ramp. While we were out, were able to get some cupcakes and candles to celebrate Roy's birthday. We snuck them onto the back patio, then had to wait a little while for Roy to stop being a security guard. I left for maybe five minutes because my contacts were killing my eyes and I missed surprising him. It's ok, since he looked happy. For future reference, twisty candles are very nearly Roy-proof. XD We went into the rave briefly, then walked around and watched Roy and Jason fight. Since I figured everyone else would go home soon anyway, I decided to leave a little early. I think something got into my contact and scratched my eye a little... it wasn't too bad during the con, but by the time I got home I was in pain. I've been wearing my glasses since then, hoping to recover soon. It doesn't hurt anymore, it was just that I had left them in too long when my eyes were irritated already.
Sunday: I woke up fairly late and talked to my mom for a while. I went to the con and was able to park in the convention center's parking garage instead of the twilight zone one. I walked in at about noon or so, and found everyone. We wandered the dealers' room again for a while and then Amanda and Dani volunteered. I went to see part of a props panel, then decided it didn't interest me that much. I went back into the dealers' room to look through the wallscrolls (I really need some wall decorations for the fall... I don't want bare walls anymore.) I didn't find anything that I would spend money on except two decks of cards, one Fruits Basket, one Naruto. There are only a few cards with the evil characters on them, and the highest ranking one was Kabuto... half of his face lol. I think they came out before the end of the Chounin exam or something. I like cards, but I think I have too many - I packed light for the summer since we don't have much room, and I still have four decks in this apartment alone. I went to see the AMV contest and I was a little late, but I caught most of them. They were absolutely great. At least three of them were really funny, and Amanda already posted the link to the really wrong one. I'm going to try to catch the AMV contests from now on since that one was so good. I think it's because they screen them before they show them. We found Roy and talked for a while, then we skipped closing ceremonies to go back in the dealers' room one last time. They were closing early, but they still let us shop. I was sad it was over so soon, but I went home and packed up. I visited my family and Kelly one last time, then drove back to Orlando. Traffic was nice, and I got here by about 10:30. Dawn wasn't here, but I found out she was upstairs from her lj so I got a shower and went to sleep.

I'm still tired from the weekend, but I had an awesome time. I got to see lots of people I hadn't seen in a while, plus be in an entertaining environment. (Part of the reason I like going to cons is that even if you're just sitting somewhere, people will walk up and amuse you.) Since very few people know me, I don't get the scary ones so I can run around unhindered. I'm really glad I went, and maybe next time Dawn will have enough free time. :-D
